"Yes, I know you read the letter," Elsa replied. "Although, if it was such good news, why'd you tear it up?" She pretended not to notice the fact that he had been looking at one of the covered paintings. It didn't really matter. Not like it gave away any valuable information, or that it was supposed to be secretive.
Anna smiiled slightly at his response to her shivers, but it fell when he just led her by the hand. She wanted the closeness and wadmth. So she walked a little faster to catch up and wrapped her arms around the ice harvester, which gave her some extra warmth from the light breeze. She wasn' t sure if she was just doing this because she wanted to, or to still prove to Kristoff that she was sorry about the whole Hans thing. Either way, she enjoyed it.

Hans tried to twist facts up. "Huh?" he pretended, "I...I didn't tear any paper. I have...no idea what you're talking about". He didn't want to connect himself with the letter's destruction, because he had done it without really meaning it, plus it would drop his respect level even below zero, where it already was. But it was too late, Elsa obviously was certain that it was his doing, so he'd better stop now. "...Yes" he told her in a sad expression, "I did tear it. But there was no reason in doing so, it was just....my reaction. Well, I suppose I don't really want Fredrik dragging me here and there, like a dog. Heh, I understand that I lost this privilege, by doing what I did against you last year. So I should jsut...not complain, and receive what I actually deserve". He was, for once, speaking the truth. He was really looking forward to leaving his vengeful plans behind, even though he still believed that he shouldn't completely abandon them. "Anyway...when do you happen to think that Fredrik will be here?" he asked. "because I also noticed your reply and I can already tell it was approving. And since I also know my brothers, Fredrik would be here in no time, either if you told him or not".

"I'm thinking two, three days max," Elsa answered him. "Is there something going on between you and Fredrik? I'm no expert at sibling rivalries, since I shut Anna out for most of my life, but I know someone doesn't just tear a paper unless they were mad or something is wrong between them." Unsure if Hans knew what she meant, she dicided to give an example. "Like, if Weselton sent me a letter after everything they did, I would probably tear it up or crumble it or something."

"No" Hans replied istantly. "I never really had any problems with any of my brothers. It's just that...ever since what happened last year....well...I used to be close with most of my brothers, but with those incidents, everyone stayed away from me. And mostly Fredrik. We used to be very good pals with him. We did everything together while we were youngsters. We were the youngest after all, and I suppose that this is why we were so close. But now, especially Fredrik has shut me out of his life....." he said then lowered his head with sadness. Then , he walked slowly and sat on a nearby chair. "It's like the opposite of what happened with you and Anna. You had shut her out completely and now you're so bond together. But my brothers are on the other side of the river....and I don't think that our relations will improve, ever again...But I don't blame them for their options..." he said and looked at Elsa, very sad, then stood up. "I forced them to choose this, the moment that I moved against you. And now....I guess I deserve what I have been through, for sure". Then he prepared to say something very important. "I will admit that, the moment I came here, all I had in mind was revenge. And making even for what has happened between me and my brothers, by ruining your relations with your sister. I blamed you, and there was no reason in doing so. It is my doings, my fault and my consequences. And if you don't want to frogive me, ever, and especially after what I told you, I will understand". He was in this weird admitting mood, which was not usual to him. He hoped he wouldn't outrage Elsa with what he just said, but stepped back a bit, just to make sure.

Elsa listened to Hans' explanation intently, feeling a mixture of emotions throughout, such as sympathy and anger. But the latter didn't last for very long. She looked at the prince and said, "I'm sorry to hear about your brothers. I know how hard that can be, unable to have a good relationship with your siblings. I'm just lucky I had a great sister, I guess. Maybe that river will vanish with your closest brother coming here for awhile." She paused for a second, thinking. "Hans, I have a question: last year when you proposed to Anna, was there any part of you that actually truly loved her, or was it all just a want for power?" She asked. She hoped he would be as straightforward with his answer as he was with his latest explanation.

Hans was determined. Enough with mumbling and silly schemes, with no point. He had only been looking after his selfish self, but he'd only managed to damage him. "I'll be honest, as you wish" he told her. "I don't know if your sister ever told you, but I had planned everything from before. Your murder, marrying Anna, becoming the Queen's wife. After all, how are you supposed to fall in love with someone whom you just met? I only took advantage over Anna's naivety and lack of experience in true love. I have to admit, your sister is cute, and a great person. But I never really wanted to marry her for this. back then, I only had my mind stuck in becoming a King and gain power myself. And what did I earn? Losing my Prin..." he said and suddenly stopped. Perhaps he didn't want Elsa to know what his punishment was yet, because his ego was still there after all.
Meanwhile, Kristoff had brought Anna back in the castle and took her in the room. "There" he said, "it's warmer in here, isn't it? But you must say that it's too cold for a summer night, isn't it? Heh, it would be funny if Elsa was once again responsible, you know because Hans made her upset and stuff" he said jokingly, and waited for Anna to respond.

Elsa nodded. "Okay. I'm still not happy with how you just used her like that, but I agree, and you heard me say it during my coronation party. You just can't fall in love with someone you just met. It' s just not possible, except in fairytales where everything works out great," she said. "Anna is still a little naïve at times, but I think she's getting better. So, I guess I could thank you for that." Yawning, she said, "I'm going to go to bed now. It's getting pretty late, and as queen, I have a lot of things to do. Good night, Hans."
Meanwhile, Anna was sitting comfortably on the bed and glared at Kristoff's "joke". "That's not funny, Kristoff. We really shouldn't joke about that stuff. Especially after seeing what she can do when her emotions get out of hand." She yawned and laid down, pulling the blanket over her, but tried staying awake for as long as possible. "Summer's almost over. Kind of sad to think that," she said, glancing outside where the wind was blowing the tree branches.

Hans as confused. He had finally admitted everything, and Elsa took it just so lightly. He thought she'd be outraged by this. Well...maybe her heart wasn't as cold as the one to match her appearance. He smiled internally and decided to go back to his room and call it a night.
As for Kristoff, he had realised his joke was too <<cold>>. Anna was right after all, it shouldn't be something he'd joke on. So, he'd rather put it aside. "Well...summer is almost over, but there's always the good part in this, right?" he said. "Glass half-full, not half-empty. After all, winter is my job season, remember? Not many people want ice at that time, but at least the quantity is large and stored until summer". Then he kissed Anna goodnight. "I got to go now, Anna" he said. "After all, I got something to settle" and he left the room, swiftly and without enough explanations. He immediately headed into Hans' room. The Prince hadn't chagned his clothes yet and was in his classic clothes. "Listen up, lad" he told him and approached him. "What is it now" Hans asked troubled, cared not to get another punch. "I'm here to warn you" Kristoff replied. "You stya away from Anna. For good! Or else!" Hans never really liked being threatened, but didn't want to provoke Kristoff anymore. "I undestad and you don't need to warn me" he said, "I will stay away from your fiancee". "Keep the honey talking to yourself, you rat!" Kistoff noted angrily, "I don't fall for it! I don't care if you're here to apologise for your cruel actions last year, and this year I should say, bu if I find you again anywhere near Anna, not just kissing her, even talking to her, you'll need crutches to leave Arendelle". "Well, I thought I needed a boat to do so" Hans said jokingly, but Kristoff grabbed his collar and stopped his jokey mood instantly. "And cut the irony as well." he told Hans, then let his collar go and left the room, with a big slam closing the door. Hans didn't really pay much attention in this, after all kristoff had proven himself to be quite hotheaded a person. But he'd better just keep his distances from Anna while he'd be around. Then, he chaanged his clothes and layed on the bed to sleep.

Elsa walked up to her bedroom, laid down, and after a few minutes, fell asleep. She was glad that it had come so easy unlike earlier.
Meanwhile, Anna laid in bed, sad that Kristoff just left her. She had hoped that he would stay with her, in case Hans tried doing something. Okay, fine. She didn't think the prince would do anything, especially not with Kristoff around, but she had missed her fiance. She sighed and turned onto her side, and soon fell asleep. ---- *Three Days Later*
Elsa had been extremely busy with queenly duties and getting ready for Fredrik's arrival, that she hadn't had much time to herself to be with her sister or to keep an eye on Hans the past few days. But she knew that, if there were any problems, someone would have told her right away.
Meanwhile, Anna had been enjoying time with Kristoff, and most of the time forgot Hans was even in the castle, becuase he didn't bother her at all. She liked it that way. And she was sure Kristoff did, too. She woke up early on the third morning and wuickly brushed her hair and put them into her two normal braids that she almost always did.
Fredrik was on the ship to Arendelle. He had been travelling for a few days now, and was ready to get off this boat.
"We'll be in Arendelle in five minutes, Your Majesty," the servant announced.
"Thank you, Fredrik said. He grabbed his bags and walked up to the deck and saw Arendelle in the distance. He had never been to the kingdom, so this would be a nice experience. "No, not nice," he reminded himself. "I have to take care of the royalty and make sure my youngest brother doesn't get into any trouble." He highly doubted anything would change after this trip. But he was in for one surprise.
When he arrived, he was escorted up to the queen's study. The servant escorting him knocked on the door.
"Yes?" Elsa called.
"Yoour Highness, Prince Fredrik of the Southern Isles is here," the servant announced.
"Okay. Let him in," Elsa ordered. The door slowly opened and revealed a prince that Elsa thought was originally Hans. Then, as she took a closer look, she noticed some differences. Fredrik had brunette hair and blue eyes, and he had a little bit more build than Hans did.
"Your Majesty," Fredrik said, bowing. "I am Prince Fredrik, 12th son of the deceased King Frank," he introduced. "I presume that you know the reason why I' m here?" Until he had asked the question, he hadn't seen the queen. When he looked up, he was stunned to see her beauty. Her almost-white hair was in a side braid, she had fair skin and piercing blue eyes, and a blue dress that was made out of some sort of material he didn't know of. He had heard rumors from Hans that the queen of Arendelle had ice powers, but he didn't believe they were true. But if they were, is that what her dress was made of? If so, it was absolutely amazing.
"Yes, I do. I haven't seen your brother yet this morning - I think he's still aslep. If you'd like, you can wait in here until he's up," Elsa offered.
"I would love to," Fredrik responded, and sat in the seat across from Elsa.

Olaf was playing around with Sven in the city. Suddenly, he noticed Fredrik walking towardds the castle. "Oh, hey look Sven" he said, "it's hHans! But...didn't he arrive in Arendelle 3 days ago? And I don' remember him leaving. So...what is this?" Sven was nodding with his snout that this was not Hans, but Olaf realised something else "oh, I get it! It's what they call...Deja VU! We relive Han's visit in Arendelle! Very logical, isn't it? But forget that, let's play golf!" he said and set a ball down, then tried to hit it with his nose as a goldd bat, but failed and instead sent his nose flying. "NooO!!!" he shouted and ran after it, while Sven sighed and followed his silly friend.
Hans hadn't slept that night. Or the previous ones. His brother had just arrived in Arendelle and he had seen him walking inside the courtyard. Hans was disappointed of this. Especially after Kristoff's warning, he was spending almost all of his time inside his room, sitting on his chair next to the window, drinking tea and looking outside, pretty much like an old lady, as he compared to himself. He was very lonely. He was alone all the time inside this room, and no one cared to keep him company. There was no big difference from the Southern Isles. Just like back there, where his brothers avoided him and didn't talk to him...for almost a whole year. He had finally truly regretted for his actions, because it had costed him the benefit of being around people and having a normal life. He no longer cared about it, he just stood up from his old grandma chair, and walked straight to Elsa's study room, where he correctly guessed his brother would be. What had to be done, should be done, and soon.
He just hoped that he wouldn't get the good ol' cold abuse of his brother again, or at least that Elsa would have somehow calmed him down. When he reached the door, however, he hesitated to knock at first. But in the end, he gently knocked the door five times, and after getting an approving reaction, he entered. He saw Fredrik standing right across Elsa, in front of her desk. At first he felt uneasy, but responded. "Good morning, Queen Elsa. And....hello, brother".

Fredrik quickly turned around to see his younger brother there. "Ah. Good morning, Hans. Care to join us?" He asked, motioning to the chair next to him. Elsa looked at the prince, and frowned. Now, it wasn't because it was Hans that she frowned, necessarily. It was more because of his appearance. He had circles around his eyes from sleepless nights, and his whole appearance suggested boredom and tiredness.
"Hans, is everything all right? I haven't seen you since that night when we were next to the family portrait, and you don't look like you've slept or done much of anything the past three days," the queen said.
"Wait, you haven't seen him in days?" Fredrik asked, shocked.
"I haven't had the time," Elsa answered with a shrug. "Besides, there's Anna, Kristoff, and all of the other servants that can watch him if need be. I heard nothing about him, so I didn't worry about it. Speaking of my sister, I'm sure she would like to meet you. Gerda!"
"Yes, Your Highness?" The maid asked. She had been walking past the door, planning on doing some laundry.
"Can you please go get Princess Anna?" She asked.
"Of course. I'll go get her right now," Gerda answered.
"Thank you," Elsa said in a dismissive tone. Without another word, the maid ran off to Anna's room. She knocked on the door, breathless from the run. "I need to stop running. I'm getting too old," she thought to herself just as Anna opened the door.
"Princess Anna, Prince Fredrik is here in Queen Elsa's study, and the queen would like for you to meet him," Gerda explained.
"Oh, yes. Of course," Anna said. "Thank you, Gerda." Without another word, Anna ran down the stairs, but regained control and tried acting normal as she walked into the study. Elsa saw her sister and smiled.
"Prince Fredrik," Elsa began, "this is my sister, Princess Anna. Anna, this is Prince Fredrik, one of Hans' brothers."
"Nice to meet you," Anna said, curtsying.
"You as well, Princess," Fredrik said, walking over to her and kissing her hand. Elsa smiled at the sight, but then remembered about Hans, who had stayed quiet. She waited for an answer from him.

Hans was listening to the others' conversation. It was weird how lightly Fredrik welcomed him in the room. Mostly probably in order to show respect towards the Queen. Yes, that was mostly probable why. And how nicely the conversation had stood up for a little while, with him being silent. Did they even remember that he was their main concern there? He ignored that. He avoided talking to Anna or answering to his brother, and quietly walked and sat on the chair his brother had showed him before, speechless, without saying a word. After all, his brother was busy being a real <<gentleman>> with the two sisters. It was just a matter of time until the two would be alone and Fredrik showed his true behaviour against him.
Kristoff walked by the room where everyone was gathered and listened to their conversations. He realised that Han's brother had finally arrived, so just to make sure that he wouldn't prove to be a new Hans, he stayed out of the room, in the hall, listening and waiting, in a seeming indifferent way.

"Hans?" Elsa prompted. "I'll ask you once again: are you all right?" Anna raised an eyebrow, unsure of why Elsa would be so concentrated on Hans' well-being. Then she realized the prince had dark circles underhis eyes, and looked so bored and tired. Anna had been busy with Kristoff, so she didn't see him much the past days, and, as car as she knew, he never even came out of his room for her to see him, which was obviously fine by her. After he almost ruined hers and Kristoff's relationship, she didn't want anything to do with him. Fredrik looked at his brother expectantly. Sure, Hans had had worse treatment. How he looked now waz a big difference from how he looked when he left. But still, in a palace other than his own, he should look better than that.

Hans decided to reply to Elsa. "...Definitely" he said in an indifferently ironic way. "Never better". Then he turned to his brother, Fredrik, and tried to lighten up his face a bit, because it was pointless to keep being grumpy. "Well, welcome in Arendelle, brother" he told him. "What's your opinion so far?I can already tell you've introduced yourself to the royalties here, Queen Elsa and Princess Anna".

"Yes, Arendelle is beautiful. And so are the people," Fredrik replied, looking at Elsa, who looked away so she wouldn't have to make eye contact. Anna covered her mouth with her hand, stifling a laugh. Fredrik had noticed that Hans had changed the subject on purpose, but he didn't care. "It's no wonder you wanted to marry one of them, even if it was just for power."
Elsa turned to face the other direction, still trying not to make eye contact with Fredrik. "Well, I'm glad to hear that," she said to Hans about how he's feeling. "We don't want you to feel unwelcome here." She slowly turned to Fredrik and looked straight in his blue eyes as she said, "We hope you enjoy your stay as well."
"Oh, believe me, I will," Fredrik said with a smile.
"Good," Elsa said. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have some things to do, -."
"Can I talk to you, please, Queen Elsa?" Fredrik asked, accidentally interrupting the queen. He looked at Anna, who was standing on his left, and Hans, who was sitting on his right, and added, "Alone?"
"Yeah. I'm sure that can be arranged," Elsa said, looking at the sun for the time: just a little past sunrise. She still had plenty of time to finish her work afterwards. And she knew the tone of that question too well. Whatever Fredrik wanted to talk about, it was important. She looked at Anna and Hans and asked, "Do you mind exiting the room, please?" Anna gave her an uneasy look, quickly glancing at Fredrik to signal to Elsa her worries. "Don't worry. If anything happens," 'which I highly doubt,' she added to herself, "I can just ask for help." Anna relaxed a bit, curtsied, and walked out of the room to see Kristoff.
"Hi, Kristoff," she greeted. "What do you want to do?"
