Elsa was sitting in her study, reading some more of the business letters. She didn't like being cooped up for most of the day in the room, but she had to do it. She sighed and turned around to look out the window, where she could get a good view of all of the citizens skating around on the ice rink she made a year ago. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Anna skating pretty fast, then jumping in the air with a couple of twists, and then landing - well, more like falling on the ice. Elsa laughed softly at the scene. Her sister had certainly made some progress, but she was still a little clumsy. Turning back to her desk, she took a deep breath and finished reading the letter she was in the middle of.

Hans was now disembarking the ship which had brought him back in Arendelle. It wasn't a place he had the best memories about. After the fall of his plans on becoming king, he had spent a lot of time having his brothers hazing on him. Sure he was lucky having received just scoldings by the other princes of the Southern Isles. It had been one year since his schemes failed in Arendelle. It was unfair. He couldn't just go on leaving with something like that without making it even. He was born for great things, and everyone was just against him, preventing him from what he really deserved. But for now, all he had in mind was to apologise officially from Elsa and getting rid of his brothers.
Thus, he moved towards Arendelle's palace.

Anna got up off of the ice and begin skating again, despite the fact that she was hurting from the fall. There wasn't much else to do, with Kristoff out ice-harvesting for the next couple of days and Elsa up in her study doing her queenly things. She looked up where her sister would be, and sure enough she quickly identified her sister, her hair still in the side braid, her dress still the ice one she made when she had run away. Anna smiled at the memory of the adventure. Sure, there were some bad moments, like her heart being frozen and Hans betraying her, but in the end, the eternal winter thawed and Elsa and Anna had grown closer together. Plus, if Anna hadn't gone after Elsa, she would have never met Kristoff, and they wouldn't be in a relationship right now.... The princess was so lost in thought, that she accidentally ran into one of the other skaters, and they both fell on the ice. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I wasn't watching where I was ggoing. I-I'm sorry," she apologized, getting back up onto her feet and helping the woman she knocked down up. "That's quite all right, Your Highness. I understand," the lady said, before skating away. Anna smiled at the woman, and began skating again, doing more simple but still quite complicated tricks (for her, at least).

Hans kept moving towards the palace. Every single person he came upon, every soldier or citizen of Arendelle, kept a nice distance from him and looked at him with quite a frustrated expression. The pople of this city hadn't forgotten that Hans was the man who cheated them all, and tried to get rid of both the two heirs to the throne. At some point, a rotten apple landed on his head. He turned to see who had done it and saw a bunch of kids, laughing at him. It was obvious. He wasn't acceptable in Arendelle. Therefore, he hasted to reach the palace.
As he was walking, he noticed at some point a weird, but nicely made ice rink. "Heh" he thought, "that of course has to be the ice majesty's doings. That's correct, show them how nice you treat those people. But it was me who looked after them while both the royalties were out on the mountains, searching each other, pf".
Then, he realsed that princess Anna was also skating. "That's right" he thought, "she's so happy after both punches she gave me, one in my face and one in my dignity". Then, he noticed Anna falling on another skater. It was a funny moment, which didn't cause any ruckus. But Hans wasn't really looking forward to meeting with this woman again. Yet. He smiled sarcastically,
then bypassed from afar, so Anna wouldn't notice him, because he knew what was going to follow.

Anna thought she saw auburn hair out of the corner of her eye, and turned quickly to see who it was. But there was no one with that hair color there. 'I must just be imagining it,' she thought. 'I haven't seen that prince since I punched him off of the boat, but still. He did almost let me become a frozen statue, without anything to unfreeze me.' And, every now and then, Anna would have nightmares of him: his taunting words rining in her ear. 'Oh, Anna. If only there was someone out there who loved you.' But there was a someone. Two someones, actually: Kristoff and Elsa. But still, she had been foolish to trust someone so...perfect, and it always hurt her when she remembered that. If she had just listened to Elsa...No. If she had just listened to Elsa, they would still be far apart, and she really wouldn't know what love was, and she wouldn't be skating right now, and there wouldn't be Olaf. He made Anna laugh, and always knew when and how to brighten her day when she was sad. She began falling again, but this time a man's arm caught her and he lifted her back up. "You should really watch where you're going, Princess. Someone could really get hurt," he advised. "Yes, of course. Sorry. I'll try. Try paying attention, I mean. Not try hurting anyone," she stammered, and turned around, embarrassed.

Hans kept moving. After he saw Anna, he realised something. Her ''lapdog'', that fjordman was nowhere to be seen. Perhaps he had abandoned her as well, the way she deserved.
After a short while, he finally reached the gates of the palace. He prepared to enter, but the soldiers prevented him. "Where do you think you're going?" one of the soldiers asked. Hans was getting really annoyed by this treatment, but kept it inside. "Here" he said and took out a few papers. "I've been sent by his majesty the King of the Southern Isles. I intend to meet the queen". The soldier read the papers, then burst to laughter. "Heh, did you hear that guys?" The soldier told the other guards. "Our royal sibling here wants to meet the queen". The soldiers all laughed ironically, then the first soldier kept talking. "What for? To try and kill her again?" "If you even bothered to read the papers" Hans replied angrily, "you'd have realised that the queen and I have some unfinished business. My purpose is to formally and officially apologise for my previous actions". The guard double-checked the papers and saw all the royal stamps of the Southern Isles, which means it was signed by the Southern King himself. "You're lucky, sir" he said, "that the queen was kind enough not to stop the relations with your area, because the people of the southern isles don't need to pay for your crimes, otherwise there's no way you'd have entered this gate again.
So, the gates opened and Hans entered. He was hastier than ever.

Elsa was almost done with all of the letters. She made a mental note to go skate with Anna once she was. Then she got some sort of sinking feeling, like something bad was about to happen. She pushed it aside, though. There had been no danger or threats in a year. She finished the last two letters, then stoood up. She quickly redid her braid and brushed out the wrinkles in her dress so she would look presentable to all of Arendelle. Then she walked out of the room and walked down the stairs.

Hans moved through the big halls of the castle. He was really thoughtful. Concerned about some things he hadn't considered before. It all seemed fine, he'd apologise to Elsa and then he'd leave. But....he hadn't thought of the middle part. Would Elsa accept his apology? Sure she had no reason to. He knew that his actions were to his prospect and only. But now he was most concerned about Elsa's reaction when she would suddenly see him. Was it good, the fact that he didn't send someone to inform her? Then, it was msot possible that she wouldn't accept him, and his punishment would just go on. Then again, he remembered how Elsa fought against the two bodyguards the Duke of Weseltown...Weseolton had sent after her. Well, at that point she had proven that if she was really pissed off, she would be able for anything. He was really sunk in his thoughts, and all the parameters and perspectives. So that at some point, while he was accompanied by the stuff of the palace to lead him to the queen, he suddenly fell upon her. He was really startled, mostly due to the fact that his thoughts were about what would go wrong during their conversation. So much, that he nearly fell off the stairs, and one servant grabbed him the last moment.

Elsa hadn't seen the man until it was too late. Her back throbbed with pain from the fall, but sat up anyways. "Watch where you're going next time!" She yelled before realizing who it was. She had only seen him a handful of times, but it was enough to make her hate him. "Hans!" She exclaimed, then let her ice energy flow to the palm of her hands, making them glow blue. "What are you doing here? You were sent back to the Southern Isles, and be punished by them. And I advise you tell me the truth, unless you want to see how much my powers can do."

Hans had just heard what Elsa said. At first he wished that it wasn't really her, but someone else, anyone. All these plans in his head on how to approach Elsa and not to provoke her. All that was now gone. There it was. He had just caused Queen Elsa of Arendelle to fall from the stairs. And there she was, standing now, 5 feet away from him, ready to give him a ''cool'' lesson. Something he hadn't really felt, one year ago, he felt now. He was afraid, and lots of it. "But then again" he thought, "would she act so cruelly in front of the palace stuff? No, she wouldn't, it wasn't her at all, no need to be afraid" he assured himself. "But what if she did?" he thought again. It looked like no one would really care about anything that would happen to him. "And she's not to be trusted either, she's hot-headed for sure, I know". "No, no time for silly panicking" he thought. "Nah, she just wouldn't. She was a nice girl now. She'll just stay put I assume" he thought, "although those blue hands....they're creepy I must say. And...wow, she's still in that blue dress? After a whole year? Pf, I suppose she's got a poor wardrobe of hers. Can't her sister lend her a dress or anything? I mean, it's not that magestic and impressive anyway. Oh, what are you thinking?? No time for criticism! Concentrate Hans, and tell her why you're here". It didn't really take Hans more than 3 seconds to think of all this stuff. Luckily for him, he had grown used to getting out of uneasy situations. He bowed very carefully, trying not to express any sign of unease in his face or to provoke Elsa any more (if she could get angrier than that). "M...my respects, Queen Elsa" he said gently. "No need to worry regarding my punishment. The last year has been fulfilled with it" he pointed and laughed, trying to ease up the atmosphere. But no, it was obvious, that his humour wasn't suited this time, so he stopped immediately. "Ahem" he cleared his throat and moved on, "I didn't get the chance to do so last year I think, so...have I told you, milady, how beautiful this dress looks on you? I'd say it's what suits a royalty like yourself. " he tried to flatter her, so she'd somehow...drop this... ''ready to assault'' stance. But, would this ease things up, or outrage Elsa even more? It was too controvensional a matter.

Elsa rolled her eyes. "Don't flatter with me, Hans. Tell me, why are you here? Either you tell me, or I'll go get Anna and you can deal with her, and we both know how that went last time. I would get Kristoff, but he's out for the next few days." Elsa stopped herself, not because she just subtly announced they were vulnerable, but at the idea of Kristoff taking care of this monster. "On second thought, I could throw you in prison until he gets back, and you'd get worse treatment than with Anna. So, what will it be? The truth as to why you're here, or be thrown in prison and get your senses knocked out by someone you don't even know." Elsa stifled a laugh at the thought of tat, but the sides of her mouth twitched up into a smile.

Hans had realised that his strategy didn't work at all. "Heheh..." he mumbled, "there's no need to be so hostile, my queen", in order to calm her down a bit, because this was getting more and more out of hand. "And this is so good" he thought, "look at this plight of mine...having the ''Queen'' being sarcastic and joking on me. If only I could...answer to her insults. Now she can send me in prison if she just feels like it, because I caused her to fall off the stairs and justify it as another murder attempt of hers. Well, if only she hasn't realised and it's just her rage talking...And who's that Kristoff again?.....oh right, it's princess Anna's new sweetheart. Yeah, looks like she had a hard time getting over me". He wasn't really concerned about Kristoff. An angry Elsa in front of him was more than enough. But he'd rather not see Anna in a while again. Although...an absent Kristoff...hmm, this was giving him a few ideas, but it was still at an early stage. It needed more thinking, and a clear mind, without an angry snow queen threatening him. Trying to bypass this bad moment, he said "The reason of this...unannounced visit of mine, milady, is accompanied by a truly honest purpose". He then took a deep breath and spoke even gentlier and lighter. "I have come, on behalf of my eldest brother..."King" Westergaard", and my other 11 brothers, and also as representative of all people of the Southern Isles...to...ap..apol...". It was harder than he first thought, but took another breath and finally: "My homeland needs not to be hampered over my mistakes and my unnecessary, stupid actions. I intend to apologise...for all and every single one of my previous actions, here in Arendelle, against you and your sister, princess Anna, last year".

Elsa let her powers subside and relaxed a little bit. "All right. Fine. Although, I cannot entirely accept your apology." She lifted up one finger to keep him quiet in case he was about to speak. "And I'm not saying I accept your apology yet. I think the real person you need to apologize to is my sister. You did a lot more harm to her than to me. She's out skating right now, but I'm sure she'll be in sometime soon. Until then, I suppose you can, um," she stopped for a moment, trying to think of what to do with him. She certainly wasn't going to let him just wander around freely. Too many things could happen that way. And she couldn't just throw him in prison. That was out of the question now that he told her the reason for his arrival. "The servants can show you to your room, and will be watching over you every minute." She looked around the castle for any availlable servants. "Gerda!" She called to the maid. "Can you and two men take Prince Hans to his room?" "Yes, Your Majesty," she answered, before dashing off to find the two other men. It only took a couple of minutes, but Elsa felt really vulnerable just standing here with Hans alone. When they came back, she let out a sigh of relief. "Okay, well. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to see my people." She walked past the prince, and whispered in his ead, "Don't try anything. If you do, I'll learn about it, and you'll wish you hever existed."

It was somehow funny, that scene. Hans got it at first look, it was so obvious to him. While waiting for the servants to come, Elsa seemed so anxious. Not to mention how much more comfortable she was when the personnel arrived. "Heh, yeah" Hans thought himself, "like you need the stuff to protect you from me, can't do it yourself". But after that, Hans felt very uncomfortable. Elsa had just tossed a nicely weighted threat. It was obvious, she didn't trust him at all, not that she had a reason to. But he was pretty much in a mood for some discussion now, some crosstalk. Unfortunately, Elsa wasn't, and got rid of him real quick. Now the servants were guiding him to his room. He was nervous, because according to the Queen's sayings, Anna would be here as well anytime soon. He didn't really want to meet with Anna again, but hee couldn't refuse either. Elsa had been clear, and he'd better follow the tide. "Uh, that's so disgusting" he thought while walking. "Did this really have to happen now? I thought I'd just...tell Elsa all the sorry stuff, and she'd just let me go. Hmph, I can already see Anna coming in, with this expression of hers, trying to play cool, but being ready to kick my butt again. I shouldn't have played my brothers' game". After some walking, they reached the room. Once Hans entered, the servants double-locked the door. "That's right" he said quietly, so he wouldn't be really heard, "lock in the criminal lifer". Having nothing to do, he started walking up and down, all over the room and inspected it. It was probably a guest room, probably made just for him, with just a single chair and a commode. "I can't believe they treat me like this" he thought. "Ok, I tried to kill both Anna and Elsa, and they keep wishing I had never entered their lives. But then again, I really want to know what would have happened if I hadn't brought Elsa back in Arendelle? That's right, Elsa would have stayed up in the mountain, probably commanding some snowmen, and Anna would have died due to her sister. Not to mention a nice lesson I gave that little red-haired, not to trust people she has just met, no matter how trustful they seem. That's right, these two owe me a lot! But no, if I dare say something like this, I'll be a terrible liar. No credit goes to the <<bad guy>>". Thus, he waited some time, until his nightmare, Anna was here as well.

Anna noticed Elsa walking out of the castle and down to the ice rink. She must have finished something and wanted to take a break. After all, who could handle doing queenly duties 24/7 without any fun? Anna knew she would probably die if she had to do that. She skated up to where her sister was. "Hey, Elsa!" She calle,d getting the snow queen's attention. Elsa turned to her sister and gave a small smile, waving. That wasn't like her. "Elsa, what's wrong?" "Hm?" Elsa asked, obviously lost in thought. "Oh, um, nothing. Just our visitor." "Visitor? You didn't tell me anything about a visitor," Anna said, confused. "Yeah. That's because he was an unexpected one. But we can talk about him later. Do you want to teach me how to do some of those moves?" The queen suggested, trying to change the subject. Anna knew what her sister was doing, but she just shrugged it away. She knew from experience not to push it. "Sure. You might need some real skates, though. And be careful of your gown," Anna pointed out. Elsa twisted her wrist and in a flash ice skates much like Anna's were made. Then, she melted away her cape. "I can recreate it later," she insisted. "So, how about that mid-air twist?" Anna nodded and skated around to get some momentum, then jumped into the air, doing a few spins, and landing almost perfectly on the ice. She wobbled a little bit to regain her balance, then skated back over to Elsa. "It's really easy, I promise. All you have to do is skate around to get some speed, then jump into the air, spin, and land back on the ice," Anna explained. "You can do as many spins as you feel you can handle." "Okay," Elsa said, skating away. She had unknowingly gained the crowd's attention, and when she jumped, little flurries of snow fell, but didn't create anything. From Anna's perspective, it looked a little snow twister covering the snow quen. Elsa then landed squarely on the ice, and skated back to the princess. "See? Easy," Anna said. "And nice touch with the snow." "Snow?" Elsa asked, confused. "Yeah, when you did your twist, it looked like a little snow twister covered you," Anna explained. "Oh, sorry," Elsa apologized. "Nothing to apologize for. Everyone loved it," Anna said. "Now, let's try some other moves."
