"It's not what I need," Elsa corrected. "Just something to talk about. It's your apology. Anna would like for you to stay here for a little while to prove yourself. So, as queen, I'm going to set some boundaries. No leaving the castle gates. No physical contact with either of us. I'll freeze you the second you touch me. As Anna's already established, no wandering around without an escort. Um...nothing romantic between either of us, understand? I'm trying to be as lenient as possible since this wasn't my choice."

Yeah, this was definitely not one of the best days for Hans. Now he would be stuck in Arendelle, because Anna wanted him to "prove" the honesty in his words. And he still had Elsa play the martinet over his neck, still threatening him with the ''absolute zero''. Well, it would be better, than go back to his brothers, tell them that nothing happened and let them go on with what they had been doing over the last year. Wicked. "Yeah, looks like Elsa is so much the <<touch me not>> kind" he thought sarcastically. "And now, I'm gonna wander around with a leech stuck on my throat" he thought meaning the escort Anna would assign for him. "I'd rather wander around freely. Because the apology phase is all good and sweety-hearty, but...Well, at least I can free roam in the castle. Who knows, perhaps I'll discover a thing or two over the Arendelle royal family's mysterious past. After all, there's this gap of nearly 15 years, what do I have to lose?" Then, an idea came right into his head. "Hmm" he thought, "Elsa didn't really quite agree with her sister's option and choice. It's obvious that she'd rather have already sent me on my way, but Anna...yeah, we got something here, I know". Perhaps he could exploit out of this a little bit. Sure, he had come in Arendelle for the apology, but the fact that the two sisters indirectly ruined his relations with his 12 brothers...should be payed back somehow. No matter how. As long of course as it didn't cost him to make such plans, as much as it did last time. "And as for the play-tough stance the two keep" he thought, "...heh, yeah, if they were to do something threatening against me, they would have done it. Nah, I got little to fear from those two little girls. Yeah, I will give it a try, because life always needs some risk". Now, trying to create a small discord between the sisters for starters...it sounded like a plan.
"Can I ask something silly?" he then asked Elsa, and raised his hands in an excusing way. "I absolutely mean not to offend you of course by saying this, your Majesty. Neither is it sarcasm nor irony. Look, I also understand that this is not your decision, thus it's a bit hasty, reckless and...unrefined. But....if I am not to leave the castle and...if there is supposed to be no contact between me and you or your sister...." he said, put his hand over his mouth and took a sceptical expression, "um...what way should I say this.....how will I be able to do as your sister wishes? I mean...how do I...prove my apologetic purpose? I know I should be searching for the answer to this question myself, sure. But..." he said and shut his mouth in a doubtful way, trying to explain to Elsa that this was not going to work. "If I am to stay isolated, well...." he stopped and was now waiting for Elsa to respond. He just wanted her to say something that he'd show him the fish had been lured by the bait.

"I mean no touching," Elsa explained, touching Hans on the chest. "Unless you're saving one of us from, say, a boulder falling on top of them." Pinchiing the bridge of her nose, she sighed and continued talking. "Look, I still don't trust you. I'll admit it. But there is one thing that I will always remember. You're the one who stopped me from killing two men back in the ice castle, and then brought me back here to Arendelle to try and thaw this winter. In fact, if it wasn't for you, Anna would be dead right now. Now, whether you were trying to kill me or not, I can look past that just a little bit and see the good in you. I know that there is some in you. Now it's up to you. Can you prove to Anna that you can be good, or will you let her anger at you build up?"

"Heh, no touching she says" Hans thought, "and she pushes me at this point? How ironic". But once he heard what Elsa had to say, Hans was astonished. He was looking at the Snow Queen with popped eyes and a very silly expression. Because he had been caught off guard. He didn't expect it, but Elsa had just referred to what he was thinking earlier. "It had been like...forever since last time a person saw some good in my actions" he thought. "And...hmmm, for the first time, Elsa slightly seems keen in giving me a second chance!". Perhaps that's what he had been looking for. It wasn't that bad to be treated like this. Maybe, planning more mischief would just ruin this. "...NO!" he thought angrilly, "no time for tearful or mawkish thoughts!". He had to make even, and now that was his purpose, more than ever. Sure he was a pestilence to Arendelle, but he was the only one who was left as lost. There was also the Duke of Weselton sure who lost out, but not as much as he did. His whole life was ruined. A small lesson he had been taught, not to take anything for granted, not even his noble origin. But no, he wouldn't let the girls get away with what they did to him and live their lives happily ever after. His selfishness and huge ego didn't allow such. He had to prepare a believable speech for Elsa. Now that he had set such a purpose, for no reason should the Queen realise what he had in mind. Or he would be ''toast''. Or maybe ''chilled''. Nevertheless, it wouldn't end well for him...again.
"Milady" he said and suddenly kneeled before Elsa and looked down, in a very respectful way, "your words are music to my ears. I thank you, with all my heart, for seeing something good in my actions" he said and stood up slowly. "Perhaps....that was the real motive I've been searching for. As for your sister, milady, it definitely doesn't have to be a boulder" he said humorously and smiled himself a bit, "but I hope I am given this chance, soon enough to prove my true purpose and regain my lost trust. Both to your sister and you as well, your Majesty" he finished his speech with a careful curtsey. It was really folly, since for once again he had given in to his ego and malice. His words certainly didn't express anything he really thought of. But he was persuasive, for sure. All he needed was to gain both Elsa's and Anna's trust a bit more. "Yes" he thought in the end, "the day started with just an apologetic purpose, but ruining the lives of two despicable women...that would be the day. Go on, speak already, so we get further down into this!"

"I'm glad to hear that," Elsa said. "You're welcome. I hope this thing gets resolved soon, too. I don't know how long I will be able to handle the hotheaded side of my sister." She chuckled softly, then cleared her throat and looked at Hans. "Now, I must go back to my duties. If you need anything, ask one of the servants, or you can find me in my study." With that, she turned and began walking out of the room. 'That wasn't very hard at all,' she thought. 'He does seem like a nice guy so long as he's not trying to kill you. Then again, I'm not the one who got my heart broken when he didn't kiss me with my frozen heart, and then get locked up in the room. So it makes sense why Anna is so hostile to him. But she's not the one who would have killed two men if it wasn't for this prince.'

It was obvious, Hans was getting more and more comfortable around Elsa. He was feeling proud, since for once again he was seeming to gain her trust. Anna would probably wouldn't as hard a target as Elsa. However, he still wouldn't know if she'd trust him as much as she had done before. Even a slight pinch was more than enough. The moment Elsa walked out of the room, he smiled sarcastically. However, Elsa's words were still spinning in his head.Perhaps, it wasn't really worth it, so much risk once more? Just to satisfy his enormous ego? Wasn't it too wicked, to follow the same motive again? He had a chance to change his relations with the sisters. But no, vengeance was still there, and had to be fulfilled. But until then, he'd spend some time alone. He also exited the no longer locked door of the guest room and saw no one outside. "What happened to this escort?" he thought. "Oh nevermind, I'll just walk around a bit myself" and headed for a higher floor. As he walked up, he entered a big room, where a large painting was under a black cover. he uncovered half and saw a royal couple. "Hm?" he thought. "I suppose those two are Elsa and Anna's parents?". He stood there for several minuites, thinking.

Elsa walked back into her study to find Anna there, waiting in one of the chairs. "I thought I told you to go have fun?" She asked. "Sorry. I just couldn't with knowing you were with him. So I waited here just in case," Anna answered. Elsa raised her eyebrow in confusion, but shook her hwad to block it. No point in asking questions right now. "You know, he isn't that bad," Elsa said. "Oh, yeah? Apparently you've forgotten that he betrayed me and locked me in the room, and then almost killed you. He's not bad?" Anna screeched. "I didn't say he wasn't bad. I just said that he also has some good in him still," Elsa corrected. "Oh, yeah? Like what? Name one thing he did that would make him a good guy," Anna said. "How about three?" Elsa responded. "He stopped me from killing two men, he brought me back to Arendelle, believing, just like you, that I could thaw the winter, and he also took care of Arendelle while you were out trying to get me back. If that's not enough to make you see that there's good in him, then I don't know what is." Anna sat back in her chair, stunned. Did he really do all of that? Yes, he did. She remembered hearing some people say after he left how kind he was while she was gone. And as for him bringing Elsa back, it made sense. Elsa definitely wasn't coming back on her own, so someone else bringing her was the most likely option. "What do you suggest I do?" Anna asked her sister. "Give him a second chance," the queen answered. "Maybe do activities with him. What kinds of things would you have done with him if I didn't say no to the proposal and he didn't betray you? Go show him around Arendelle, or go out skating while it's still daytime. I'm sure you'll figure out something." Anna nodded and looked at the door to the study. "Okay, I'll do that. But I'm not letting my guard down at all," Anna said, and walked out of the room. She slid down the railing to the stairs like she always did, and found Hans looking at her parents' portrait. "Hey, Hans. Do you, um, want to, um, go for a walk around town with me?"

Hans turned his head and saw a nervous Anna standing right next to him. He instantly let the black cover of the painting move to its staring position and covered it. Anna seemed so nervous, but in a different way than before. And...that proposal of hers. What had happened? Perhaps Elsa talked her out of it? "Wow" hans thought, "that was easier than I expected. Alright, showtime". "Anna?" he said trying to pretend being surprised. "Well, definitely, I sure can, why not after all? But...um....a little while ago you wanted to punch me. Er...what changed now?".

"Well..." Anna began, but stopped. Should she tell him that Elsa was making her do it? No. Not this guy. Anyone else but him. She thought of an excuse just a few seconds later and looked back up at Hans. "You have to prove yourself to me still, and you can't really do that if we're not seeing each other." Anna said. "Now, come on. We should start in the courtyard. Just be careful not to slip on the ice." Without waiting for Hans, she ran up to the doors that led to the courtyard and opened them up effortlessly.

Hans was puzzled, but decided to follow Anna in the courtyard. "Well, we'll see where that goes" he thought. He followed her outside, and tried to keep up with her, walking so fast. At some point he asked her: "Alright, you said you want me prove all this. If you may, give me a hint on how? Or am I rushing a bit? Noo mean to pressure you".

Anna turned around to face the prince. "I'm not sure. I mean, I know. But I'm not sure what way would work the best for you without you taking it selfishly. There's obviously the option to save me from getting killed." 'Like he would do that,' she thought to herself. "Basically, just figure out some way for me to trust you again. That can't be too hard for you, I'm sure, considering I was able to trust you almost right away when we first met," Anna said. 'Although I was so focused on finding someone to love, that I trusted the first man I met, even though he had pushed me into a boat.' They exited the courtyard and began walking around town.

Hans was a bit puzzled on this. It seemed that Anna would now be an easy target. As they walked into town, he kept trying to justify his actions even more. It seemed simple. First, Elsa mentions the good part of his actions, and suddenly Anna changed her attitued towards him a lot. Yeah, Elsa had talked Anna into this. She didn't want him to realise, but the poor sisters...tthey were so easy to read.
As they walked, they came upon Olaf, who was taking his stroll into town as well. Once he noticed them, he couldn't help but say hi. "Hey Anna" he said happily, "I think I didn't thank you for fixing me earlier, did I? How rude of me, heh, thanks a lot! Wait a minute, who's that guy next to you? Oh, oh oh I know, don't tell me! Isn't he this...umm...Who is he? Oh right, he's that Hans we'd kiss last year, right? Yey!". Once he said that, suddenly he stopped smiling. "Wait a sec, that Hans was the one who left you for dead? Oh, then not yey, boo! You're mean! He should...not be here! Why is he here by the way? Is it because of the fine weather?" he said and laughed but instantly grumped down again.

Anna giggled at Olaf's expressions throughout, then looked over at Hans before answering Olaf's question. "Well, Hans had come here to apologize, although, due to his actions last year, I've decided that I want him to stay here and prove himself to me," she explained. She knelt down next to Olaf and whispered, "I'm only going on this walk with him because of Elsa. If it was up to me, I would put him in a dungeon and make it extremely cold in there, that way he can feel what it was like to be me when I had my frozen heart." She rose back up to her feet and stood next to Hans again.

"Oh, dandy then" Olaf immediately exclaimed happily, "I get it now, you don't really want to do this but Elsa has made you to, right? And...why would she do that?" he asked loudly, loud enough for Hans to hear, even though Anna was right next to him. "Heh, I knew it" Hans thought, "I knew Elsa would have affected Anna in this. Now it's weird though, Anna says it's Elsa's decision and Elsa says it's what Anna wanted". Him to stay there. Nah, mostly probably they both wanted him there. It was obvious. "but it's so cute how she's trying to excuse herself to this clumsy snowman.

Anna looked nervously at Hans. He wasn't supposed to blurt that out, but then again, he never did keep secrets. Now how would she answer Olaf without telling Hans? ' Well, he already knows. No point in keeping it a secret anymore," she thought. "She believes that there's still some good inside of Hans, and wants me to see it for myself, I guess. She even gave me three ways how he was good during the eternal winter, but I'll tell you about that later," Anna said. Looking at nothing, she asked, Hey, is that..Sven? Maybe you should go say hi to him. He might even try kissing your nose again," Anna said, stifling a laugh.
