What genres do you prefer to read and why?
As far as age range, I tend to read more middle grade and young adult fiction rather than adult fiction. But for specific genres, I tend to read more fantasy/adventure and contemporary. I find I also love historical fiction, but I haven't read much of it. And although I've only read one book, I really like science fiction too, which I plan to read more of.
When people ask me what kind of books I read, I say I read everything. Because honestly, I do. I read children's books, young adult, adult and even genres that I don't visit as often as I do certain other ones like Romance, Romance, Crime, etc.
I definitely like having a broad reading range, but it is something I have to work on because a lot of the time I find myself stuck in the "middle grade/young adult" bubble. Not that it's a bad thing, but I do like to explore other books. Because with those limits I'd be missing out on a ton of good stories.
So what about you guys? Do you have a favourite book genre?

I wouldn't say I have a favourite genre as I'm open-minded towards books, but I partial to a fantasy book or a historical romance aha.

I generally like teen fiction and romance books. I haven't read any historical fiction books lately, except in English class, but I did like the Magic Tree House series when I was younger, and I think I might look for some when I go to the library again. I'm not a huge fan of science fiction, but there are three trilogies (Hunger Games, Divergent, and SYLO) that I liked, so if I find other ones like those, I might read them. I basically like any kind of genre except horror and paranormal ones, but teen fiction and romance are my top two.
